By profession a physics and computer science teacher, Kristian Bagarić is also a self-taught music producer, visual artist, and promoter. Under the artistic name varboska, he creates experimental electro-acoustic music that is emotional and rich in visual motifs, drawing inspiration from video games, film, and the natural sciences. He has performed numerous live and DJ sets in Zagreb, Belgrade, and Ljubljana, as part of programs by the VOLTA and SUTRA club collectives, as well as the ZEZ and Grounded festivals. He spends most of his time in the studio, which has resulted in a number of releases available on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. In addition to music production and visual art, varboska is active in the SNOP art platform together with Monika Milas and Josip Kornet, which organises multidisciplinary experimental art events. Alongside Ivona Eterović (tonota) and Filip Talijić, he also runs OTOK – an online community of music producers and artists working in related practices, organising workshops, meet-ups, and guest lectures.
