With a series of sonic objects, artist deals with the issue of inter-sensory perception by exploring multi-modal spatial perception through the body by multi-channel sound composition. Sonic Helmet is asonic object to be worn on the head. A three-channel sound system creates an intimate three-dimensional sound field as well as vibration on your skull. Morita deals with the issue of “bodily listening”, which involves auditory and tactile perception. One of the types of tactile information is vibration, which can be produced by a transducer. He focuses on this tactile aspect of sound in order to gain a complex sonic experience of the inner (kinesthetic) and outer (auditory) spaces of the body.
