At the beginning of May, the EMAP Networking Conference, organised by gnration, brought together representatives of all member organisations within the network, as well as artists selected for this year’s residency programmes. Held in Braga on 8–9 May 2026, the conference provided an opportunity for participants to present, for the first time, the projects they will be developing during the upcoming residencies, while also exchanging ideas, approaches, and potential forms of collaboration. The meeting focused on establishing a shared working framework for the new residency cycle and creating space for dialogue between artists and institutions from across Europe.
Representing KONTEJNER at the conference were curators Tereza Teklić and Olga Majcen Linn. The artist collective Where Dogs Run (RU/SI), who will be taking part in a residency hosted by KONTEJNER later this year, was unfortunately unable to attend in person, but presented their project online.
This year’s conference took place alongside the INDEX Biennial, held across various venues in Braga from 7 to 17 May. Under the theme “Power”, INDEX 2026 features an extensive programme of performances, conferences, educational activities, and exhibitions.
