Detailed festival programme is on this link.

This year's edition of the experimental sound event Gibanja will open with a structured improvisation by the youngest participant of this year's festival, nine-year-old Rio Sinkauz on xylophone and drums, in a duet with Nenad Sinkauz on guitar and electronics. The first day of the festival continues with an intriguing spatial-sound exploration where Stijn Demeulenaere (field recordings, objects, and live electronics), guitarist Primož Sukič, and percussionist Ruben Orio explore the sound identity of KONTEJNER venue and its surroundings, using the space itself, both indoors and outdoors, as part of their instrument setup. The first day of the festival concludes with two Swiss saxophonists, eventuell., who present their own exploration of the multifaceted nature of silence through electroacoustic compositions and audiovisual works, examining the differences between auditory and visual perception.

Tuesday at Gibanja is reserved for a multi-channel day at KONTEJNER, featuring two recent commissions from the Parisian INA GRM: a piece for drums and multichannel pre-recorded drums by Alexandre Babel, and an ambient piece for cello and multi-channel tape by Judith Hamann. The multi-channel electronic composition will be performed by Austrian experimental scene protagonist Ursula Winterauer aka Gischt, followed by a DJ set of Miodrag Gladović’s favorite songs, on the edge of ambient sound and dance rhythm, upmixed in ambisonic format.

The third day brings music from specific DIY instruments: a concert by Jasna Veličković on the Velicon, an instrument she designed and built herself, an electronic system consisting of magnets and metal objects moved by coils, and a concert by the Blasco / Voutchkova duo, or more precisely, the Blasco / Voutchkova and Annette trio. It is a unique combination of instruments where Biliana Voutchkova uses voice and violin, with specific performing techniques, while Marche Blasco plays on Annette, a 3D printer she built herself. The evening concludes with the emerging young experimental musician Abigail Toll, with an ambient electroacoustic drone performance.

The program of the fourth day of Gibanja takes place at the Močvara Club, starting with a poetic documentary film, a portrait of the French sound pioneer, electronic musician Éliane Radigue. This is followed by an audiovisual performance by Kassel Jaeger and Eléonore Huisse, and a concert by representatives of the Croatian contemporary scene, The Anti-Teleological Rock Combo, whose first record is being released in May this year, for the only specialized experimental label Kopaton Records.

After four main festival days and a day off, this year's Gibanja will conclude on May 25th with a sound installation by Kathy Hinde, exploring the sonic complexities and combinations of glass vessels with varying water levels. In addition to the opening of the sound installation, Hinde will also perform two live performances on it, between which she will present her work in an artist talk.
