Klif’s multi-channel video installation consists of 48 black-and-white CRT screens salvaged from video intercom systems—a once-ubiquitous technology that has since become obsolete. Removed from their original casings and mounted within an open structure, the screens are transformed from display surfaces into spatial objects visible from all sides. They are connected through a video matrix system that enables the display of diverse visual content and the synchronized movement of images across the network of monitors.
The project draws on communication theorist and philosopher Marshall McLuhan’s idea that older media can acquire new value within contemporary art. Through this work, the artist also explores uncertainty, error, and learning as integral elements of the creative process, revealing aspects of artistic production that are often hidden from public view.
The exhibition functions as a dynamic multi-channel video instrument in which images are performed in real time, creating a spatial composition of rhythm, movement, and relationships between screens and space. On the occasion of the exhibition opening on May 28, 2026, a artist talk was also held, moderated by KONTEJNER curator and director Tereza Teklić.
