KONTEJNER at Sonic Acts Biennial 2026

KONTEJNER's extended team is attending this year’s edition of the Sonic Acts Biennial in Amsterdam, a biennial international festival at the intersections of art, technology, music and science.

Titled Melted for Love, this year’s Sonic Acts Biennial takes place from February 5 to March 29, with an intensive festival weekend from February 26 to March 1. Through around 80 events, it presents cutting-edge works of more than 200 international and local artists.

KONTEJNER's curators Davorka Begović and Tereza Teklić will attend this year’s edition of the Biennial as part of a curatorial exchange visit within the project New Perspectives for Action by the Re-Imagine Europe network.

Musician, sound designer, and multimedia artist Hrvoje Pelicarić is presenting his electronic multichannel composition "...to dear incomprehension, or the pieces of the personal waiting" at Sonic Acts Biennial 2026, which has been premiered at Gibanja 2025, commissioned and produced by KONTEJNER. Following the premiere, he undertook a seven-day residency at the Sonic Acts' spatial sound studio in Rotterdam, and further developed the composition to prepare it for the presentation within the Listening Room programme at the 2026 Biennial. This year’s Listening Room programme also features "the last trace (non-intentional)" - a composition by Miodrag Gladović, one of the most prominent figures on the Croatian contemporary experimental music scene, as well as KONTEJNER's long-standing associate. Emerging from years of lumino-acoustic research and unconventional recording, this work concludes Gladović's twelve-year long period of experimentation which he named "Rozalia – studio for noise and silence".

Hrvoje Pelicarić’s participation in the Sonic Acts Biennial was supported by We Move Music Croatia.
