Artist collective Where Dogs Run started the first part of their EMAP residency at KONTEJNER this week. The residency focuses on the work “Kerosene Chronicles. Greta-Fungus 2.0”, the third part of their trilogy exploring the relationship between the technophilic Kerosene Fungus (Amorphotheca resinae), machines, and humans.

Where Dogs Run will work on two interconnected parts of the hybrid entity: developing new animations for its virtual body and expanding the language engines of the AI agents operating along the Fungus-Human scale.

The virtual body moves between fungal, hybrid, and human states, while its language and way of speaking change together with it. The artists’ aim during this part of the residency is to expand the spectrum of these transformations – both bodily and linguistic – so that the emerging personality of Greta-Fungus can gradually become more complex, unstable, and alive, as well as more open to the viewer.
