For multiple reasons, a group of active participants in the Croatian experimental music scene have come together to organize the promotion of the album "Azbestni krovovi" by the band Roj Osa, the promotion of the compilation "Zvučni zid", and the promotion of the only domestic experimental label Kopaton Records. The entire evening also serves as a warm-up for the upcoming Gibanja, the 4th experimental sound event by the KONTEJNER association, as well as an opportunity for further networking and discussion.
The moderator of the discussion on the experimental music scene is Melanija Pović Jagarinec, an editor who regularly follows the scene, and the discussion participants are: Davorka Begović (KONTEJNER, Gibanja), Mirna Čupić (KSET/ZEZ), Vedran Peternel (Zvučni zid), and Alen Sinkauz (Kopaton Records, Roj Osa).
The compilation "Zvučni zid" is a continuation of the "Zagreb Calling" release, which provided an overview of Zagreb's alternative scene in 2021. The new double album "Zvučni zid" expands the concept to the whole of Croatia, featuring not only fifteen other performers but also ten clubs across the country that support the alternative scene. Both compilations have been awarded the Porin in the category of Best Album with Various Artists. "Zvučni zid" will present some of the bands from the compilation live during 2024, including Roj Osa at KONTEJNER.
Roj Osa is a new band by Nenad Sinkauz, Alen Sinkauz, and Marco Quarantotto. They see their collaboration as a unique space for artistic ideas, concepts, as well as intuition and freedom. The music they create explores the boundaries of their previous collective sound creation and a 30-year friendship. They use digital and analogue electronics, manipulate live electric and acoustic instruments while controlling the maximum dynamic range of sound events. In Zagreb, they will promote the album "Azbestni krovovi" LP, D (Kopaton Records), and multimedia artist Ivan Marušić Klif will join them on visuals.
This concert offers an exclusive insight into their first album "Azbestni krovovi" which will take you on a journey through musical experiments and deep sound textures. The album is available on all digital platforms, and this is an opportunity to experience it live in all its complexity.
