UNTIE THE KNOT: Open call for conference
KONTEJNER | bureau for contemporary art praxis in partnership with Photography association Organ Vida is organizing a two-day international conference "Untie the Knot: Redefining Normativity in Love" as part of the Extravagant Bodies festival. The two-day conference will take place at the Grand venue of Cinema Europa in Zagreb on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st, September 2019. We invite everybody interested to propose scientific, theoretical and other investigative works on the topic of love!

Bio-art research on materiality and desires of the leaky body in Dubrovnik and Zagreb
Our 2019 EMAP residency has started with the launch of Margherita Pevere’s (IT/DE) artistic research in biotechnological laboratory of our partner - UR Institute located in Dubrovnik. First phase of the project is scheduled to last from April to May. Afterwards, Pevere will continue developing her artwork at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, from July to August 2019.

KONTEJNER at Science+art cafe in Dubrovnik
New Science+art caffe organized by our partners UR Institute takes place on Saturday, April 27th 2019 at the conference hall on the Lokrum island. In its newest edition, the event is dedicated to our EMAP residency and the artwork "Wombs" by a bio-artist Margherita Pevere that is being produced during the residency.

Augment and Disrupt is IMPAKT's 3-day mini-festival that took place in Utrecht from 1st to 3rd March 2019. Festival explored interactions between art, society, and technology through a critical investigation of the interface and future of digital platforms.

Emotional robots and sensual machines at the sixth Device_art Festival of art, robotics and new technologies
“Everywhere it is machines and machines are not alone.” This powerful statement from curator ZHANG Ga is at the heart of the upcoming sixth edition of Device_art festival and it’s large central exhibition Machines Are Not Alone. The exhibition opens on December 18th 2018 in Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb at 7 p.m., and it stays opened until 3rd February 2019. With 21 exhibited artworks by 25 international artists, it represents an in an attempt to map out the activities of contemporary machines and their cohabitation with humans in our contemporary society.
